VEF Line-Up 2025

Vale Castle
Sunday, August 24, 2025 - 11:30

We're super excited about our lineup this year with THREE headliners taking to the Castle Stage along with dozens of local and overseas acts across our six stages!

VEF 2025

Castle Stage

10.45pm - Dub Pistols (UK)

Back for the first time in 16 years, we can’t wait for them to take to the stage and finish off the night with their raucous reggae tunes. Blending the reggae, jungle, hip hop, drum and bass, and break beat, with a nod to their punk, new wave and Two-Tone roots, their live shows are incendiary, and they have gained a reputation as one of the hardest working bands on the live circuit!

9.15pm - Big Special (UK)

A duo who are louder than bombs, Big Special write about desperation and struggle, about a Britain in decline, about finding pride in your darkest moments, about how the real class war in the UK is always punching downwards. Theirs are songs of hope, and despair, and more hope, because, ultimately, good people win.

7.45pm - Lovely Eggs (UK)

With observational and often surreal lyrics, The Lovely Eggs have a powerful raw sound that creates the sonic illusion of a band twice their size. They have become known for their ferocious yet joyous live performances. Operating in a world when true authenticity is hard to find, The Lovely Eggs are one of the most exciting, innovative and genuine bands around.

6.30pm - The Risk

These "power-pop modsters" (thanks for the wonderful phrasing Tom) are back with more songs than you can shake a stick at. Since their last headline performance a few months ago at the Tav, we've no doubt they'll be ready to once again get you dancing to their well-crafted and catchy tunes. Not to be missed!

5.30pm - Buffalo Huddleston

We all know them, we all love them - we are super excited to see that BH are back on the main stage this year with their easy-listening summer themed vibes! Expect to dance, sing along and hop sideways to their original, local famous classics.

4.30pm - Eloise Fabbri

Eloise has played at festivals throughout the Bailiwick, so you're bound to have seen her somewhere! Her unique style along with an incredible voice will give you a performance that you will not forget.

3.30pm - Tarantulips (Jsy)

This three-piece band from our sister isle is one to watch as they bring their indie rock vibes to the stage. Their relaxed and fun presence will captivate you and leave you wanting more.

2.30pm - The Shabs (South Africa)

We're excited to have new (ish) to the Gsy scene folk punk band The Shabs on our main stage this year. They have already gotten a big following thanks to their upbeat songs that are sure to get you dancing!

1.30pm - Lula & Gene

‘A chilled out duo playing the music they love.’ Bassist Maisie/Lulabeth (Track not Found) and renowned drummer Brett/Genesis (Teaspoonriverneck) deliver a choice selection of their favourites. This will sadly be their last gig, so make sure you're there!!!

12.30pm - Dodgy Jammers (Jsy)

Kicking off the main stage, we are pleased to have Dodgy Jammers from across the sea.

NexT Up Stage

10pm - Meryl Streek (Ire)

What a treat! We have politically-outspoken Irish avant garde punk Meryl Streek closing the NexT Up Stage this year.

His modern punk style is a fitting platform for the raw emotion and biting social commentary that drives his sound. That meshing of personal experiences and Ireland’s wider socio-political landscape – often anchored in the history and people of his hometown – fuels his new album Songs For The Deceased which came out in October last year.

Expect a performance showcasing his gritty and grimy post punk style beats, with vitriolic, emotional spoken word, having made a name for himself in the “angry” UK and Ireland music scene.

9pm - Apothis

Well known to regulars of the deepest, darkest venues: The Vault, The Fermain Tavern, a quaint parochial Liberation Day fête, why not? Apothis is a powerhouse of high energy, original and engaging heavy music. Metalcore as a performance art.

"The long awaited follow up to 2022’s Eclipse arrives the week of the Vale Earth Fair. Your Execution May Be Televised, or “YEMBT”. Expect the new EP to be played in its entirety, plus familiar songs from our roster of crowd favourites.

Blending Deathcore and Metalcore, we pull no punches, and aim to deliver heavy riffs from the start and show all the other visiting artists that we are a force to be reckoned with."

YEMBT is out in full on the 18th of August. With lead singles Cowardice and Disassociate available now.

8pm - Pillars

A newer outfit with serious credentials!

Led by the impressive range of frontman Jack Fletcher (Of Empires) and the raw energy of guitarist and vocalist Bobby Battle (To The Woods), with bassist Liam Bewey (Bindweed) and drummer Dan Garnham (Granite Wolf) rounding off their immense sound.

From clean sung-out numbers, to the grittier side of alt-rock and grunge with plenty of fuzz and distortion, Pi||ars provide all the elements we enjoy banging our heads to on this side of the Castle.

After a string of knockout shows, including support for Gurriers at St. James earlier this year, we promise you they aren't one to miss!

7pm - Claymore (Jsy)

Claymore are a four-piece band built on punchy riffs and fuzzy tone. Rooted in stoner rock but occasionally drifting elsewhere, their sound drifts through doom-y grooves, psychedelic walls of sound, and raw grunge-y moods. It's loud, and unapologetically fuzzy.

6pm - Rosemary

Original music from alternative trio Andy Moore, Jon Sandilands and Jamie Mills! The Doll Motel blend elements of 90s indie, spiky punk rock and early grunge.

If you liked what you heard at the Beach Life Summer Solstice party, or if you missed out, here's your chance to see them again!

5pm - The Doll Motel

Original music from alternative trio Andy Moore, Jon Sandilands and Jamie Mills! The Doll Motel blend elements of 90s indie, spiky punk rock and early grunge.

If you liked what you heard at the Beach Life Summer Solstice party, or if you missed out, here's your chance to see them again!

4pm - The Basement Preachers

Step into the shadow of The Basement Preachers — a gothic folk Americana trio conjuring original songs steeped in the myths, legends, and lost voices of Guernsey. With haunting vocals, twinkly guitar, and brooding viola, their music moves from mournful to mischievous, eerie to irreverent. Expect tales of shipwrecks, hauntings, rebels, and rogues – all served with smoke, soul, and storytelling.

3pm - Katja Martin

Drawing inspiration from legendary folk singer and social activist Joan Baez, Katja writes songs that blend traditional folk with a modern twist. Born in Chile and raised in Spain, Katja discovered her love for the banjo during a more challenging time in her life. Exploring themes of joy and finding inner peace, Katja is as much a storyteller as a singer.
