St Andrew's Liberation Day Celebrations

The Last Post
Thursday, May 9, 2013 - 12:00

The Last Post is the alternative place to be on Liberation Day for a family fun day with live music and lots of fun stuff to do. The Vale Earth Fair Collective have teamed up with the St Andrews Liberation Day Celebrations organisers, providing a full line up of live music at the Last Post. As well as the music there is a host of other activities based around The Last Post pub suitable for all the family.

The Rue Frairies temporary road closure allows for a stress-free day, and there is parking available in a nearby field - signposted from Blanchelande College and St Andrew's Church at £1 per car. You can leave your car and walk home if you want to enjoy the day to the full!

During the day there will be live music in the front court yard of the pub, with the bands moving in doors in the evening. The full line-up is as follows:

Midday: Matthew P Ward
1pm: The Doomsday Project
2pm: Jack McGahy
3pm: Buffalo Huddlestone
4pm: The Crowman
5pm: Ukuladeez
6pm: Ray and the Guns
7pm: Tantale
8pm: Space Pirates of Rocquaine
9:15pm: Rentoclean
10:30pm: The John Wesley Stone

Burgers, chips and beer are available all day from the Last Post and visit The Vintage Tea Garden for a trip of nostalgia with delicious homemade cakes from the past provided by St Andrew's Floral Group. The St Andrew's School PTA has arranged lots of activities for the children including Splat a Rat, Hook a Duck and Face painting. There will be an air-rifle range (for the adults ! ), ferret racing, May pole, static tractor display and a pet corner.

Support the local causes as well as the appointed charity for the day of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. You don't have to live in St Andrew's to join the fun - so come and enjoy the Liberation Day Celebrations in St Andrew's, for what will be a memorable day. Do come and join in from 12 noon until midnight.
